The Ronkonkoma Fire Department Rescue Squad is responsible for approximately 3000 ambulance calls annually. The highly trained and skilled professional volunteers consist of Paramedics, Emergency Medical Technicians-Critical Care, Emergency Medical Technicians, First Aiders and Drivers, who provide the community of the Lake Ronkonkoma Fire District with exceptional patient care. In addition, the volunteers maintain their skills and further their knowledge through continued education from sources both within and outside of the department. |

The Ronkonkoma Fire Department Heavy Rescue Company 8 is a vital asset to incident operations. The Company provides highly trained and quailfied members who are expets in specific areas needed to identify, stabilize and mitigate different types of hazards and incidents. Operations include, but are not limited to Vehicle Extrication, Hazardous Materials Response, Technical Rescue, Firefighter Assistance and Extrication, Water and Ice Rescue, Electrical Emergencies, and much more. On average, the Company responds to approximately 200 alarms annually and is often called upon to assist during other operations both within the Fire Department and interagency. |

Composed of New York State Certified Fire Police Members, who are designated as Peace Officers, the Ronkonkoma Fire Department Fire Police are a valuable asset to the Fire Department. The Company provides traffic control as well as numerous other safety measures in order to provide a safe working environment on incident scenes for the members operating. In addition, Fire Police work along side several agencies when called upon in order to facilitate safe oerations during emergency situations. |
